I’m a self-employed designer/illustrator living and working in Bristol. I completed my MA in Multi-disciplinary Printmaking at the University of the West of England in 2014, and have continued to develop my interest in printmaking and making books.

When working to commission, my final illustrations are often digital. However, they are comprised of layered, hand-drawn or printed elements, with an aim of retaining a traditional feel. My main interest is in low tech image making techniques: rubber stamps, monoprints, collage and hand-drawn type. In the final year of my MA studies, I concentrated on making artists’ books… I found this was an ideal combination of graphic design, illustration and printmaking. I really enjoy the process of making books, exploring different formats and illustration techniques, and it has opened up a whole new area of work. I have enjoyed exhibiting and selling my books at fairs in Leeds, Plymouth, Norwich, London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Bristol, and have taken part in many collaborative book art projects from all around the world.

In July 2020 I took part in a ‘Print in Conversation’ with Angie Butler from the University of the West of England. I talked about my work – the processes I use and my fascination with making books – with a focus on projects undertaken during Lockdown. You can hear the talk by clicking here

I also wear another hat as a self-employed graphic designer/illustrator specialising in communications for the voluntary sector (see www.good-thinking.info).

I often work to commission, so please get in touch if you have a project in mind, have a query about anything in the shop, or just to say hello.
